Essential Vibration: The Wave of Life

by Andrew Shire

Present in every living thing is the perfect pattern of health. I like to think of this as a rhythmical Wave. The entire body is attuned to the rhythm of this Wave. It is as distinct for each person as their own fingerprint or DNA: the signature of the divine for this lifetime.

Regardless of how out of sync or distorted a person’s health may seem to be, one can always be drawn back into this perfect pattern that lies embedded within this Wave. Our work as Attunement Practitioners is to find this Wave and align ourselves with it, not getting distracted by the symptoms that appear where the pattern has become twisted and contorted. Even within such constrictions this fundamental Wave still exists.

This Wave is basically the force of Love. Nothing exists in this universe outside of this force of Love. Although it can be shrouded, layered over by our own attempts to create our lives without regard for any fundamental awareness of this creative force, at the core of all things is Love. However, this force can be “stolen” for a period of time and made to fit into our own man-made designs and concepts about ourselves and about how life works on this planet. Holding ourselves in these prisons of rigidity produces pain and ill health. When the pain of discomfort gets so great, often a person will open and then access to this rhythmical Wave becomes available. Connecting with that core force of Love activates this Wave, thus setting in motion a vibration that begins to loosen and dislodge the shrouds and constrictions. The challenge as a practitioner is to stay with the energetic flow of the Wave and continue to let the process unfold. By attuning yourself to this rhythmical Wave that is present, the stuck pattern will begin to transform and transmute.

This form of practice is in direct contradiction to the general cultural preference for “attacking a problem headon.” At its most basic level, this attitude is the vibration of war itself. And yet as history attests, going to war as a way to change a state of imbalance in the world seems to be a temporary solution at best, and often creates a whole range of additional and unforeseen problems as a result. Similarly with healing, in order to engage the processes of transformation and transmutation, you must get underneath the surface level of things and reach for that place from which health in its essential form arises. Simply trying to make a problem go away at the physical level will often just create a whole new range of issues and unintended side effects, some of which can be even trickier to deal with than the initial problem itself.

In my own experience, when I as the practitioner have connected deeply to this rhythmical Wave in a person, a very distinct feeling surfaces: everything goes still and quiet. A place of deep peace surfaces and is tangible and palpable. This is the energetic experience of Love. All of creation comes out of and returns to this place of stillness and peace. When you enter into this place with another, the practice is to simply stay there. Resting in this place, whatever needs to unravel and begin to unwind will do so of its own accord. This is what is meant by the person’s own perfect pattern of health re-emerging. All that has been constricted begins to unwind in response to this rhythmical Wave gathering strength and energy. At this point you become a witness to the process. You are watching a “show” that is being directed by the energy of Life itself. As long as I stay focused and do not try to enter into the fray with my own ideas or agendas, a natural process of transformation will occur. For me, it is a very humbling experience and the phrase “on bended knee” will often arise in consciousness.

Everything is attuned to this Wave. As I mentioned earlier, it is truly the signature of the divine that lies within every cell of our body. When it is activated all other patterns have the ability to realign themselves with this fundamental vibrational energy. As this occurs, there will be a release of some kind, either consciously or subconsciously. This can be in the form of insights, spasms within the body, structural realignments, etc. Often you and/or your client will see the pattern, and although acknowledging the presence of that pattern is valuable, clinging on to it and becoming fixated on it is not. Staying at the level of surrender is key, thus letting the transformation and reorganization of these energies move at the levels needed for their complete transformation. When this surrender goes all the way through, sometimes a person will have what seems to be an almost miraculous healing experience.

The state of perfect health is always present seeking to return. What does not belong will leave when this Wave is activated, because there is nothing floating around in the person’s system that is not connected to this signature vibration. At times it may be that someone has lived in a state of such constriction for so long that when it all begins to unravel and unwind, the most expedient form of release is the physical body itself. However, if and when this does occur there will often be a deep sense of relief to all involved. All material substance is obedient to the force of Love, and is designed to move in response to the impulses of this rhythmical Wave.

Grief Part One of Four Parts

By Vicki Barbour, Boulder, CO

What is the most off-limits topic of discussion in the English-speaking Western world? Grief, or one’s reaction to loss. There isn’t a word for grief in Spanish, by the way.

So what do we do as Attunement Practitioners when someone in our world is grieving? We tend to fall back on what we were taught, and it takes about 10 seconds to realize that we haven’t been taught well at all. We may feel uneasy around grievers, uncomfortable with their outpouring of emotion, unsure of what to do or say. This series of articles will give you valuable information on how to handle grief in yourself as well as to assist others. It won’t be the full picture, but it will give you a start.

Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind. Grief is an emotion. Grievers aren’t broken; they don’t need to be fixed. And yet, we try to fix ourselves and others. We tend to say, “Don’t feel bad,” because that’s what we learned from our parents and friends. In other words, “Bury your feelings.” So we have a lot of people, ourselves included, that have a pile of buried feelings, unresolved grief inside. A lot of pneumaplasm is tied up in it all and it doesn’t have to be that way.

Many people think loss is only death, divorce or the breakup of a romantic relationship. Actually, there are more than 40 kinds of loss that a person can experience during a lifetime: moving, graduation, job loss, home destroyed, wallet stolen, loss of body parts, terminal diseases, etc.

We’ve been taught how to acquire things such as jobs, education, home, relationships. But what happens when we lose those things? We fall back on misinformation from others received throughout our lifetime. Besides “don’t feel bad,” we’ve been taught we should replace the loss (“There are plenty of fish in the sea.”), grieve alone (“She needs to be left alone.”), just give it time, be strong for others, keep busy, etc. And that’s just the beginning!!

What grievers really need is someone to listen to them. Just listen, without interruption, analysis, judgment or criticism. Just be there fully present for them. They are OK, nothing is wrong. You’ll be surprised how easy it is. And don’t say, “I know how you feel.”

Next part: Common statements grievers hear from well-meaning, well-intentional folks which don’t help the griever.Recommended reading: The Grief Recovery Handbook, by John W. James and Russell Friedman.
