Living Every Day In The Attunement Current

By Vicki Barbour, Boulder, CO

Opportunities of sharing in the Attunement current are ever present in our daily lives. For example, not long ago, the dentist who owned the business where I work sold his practice to a dental corporation from out of state. My boss dramatically cut back his hours as he was looking to start retirement, leaving the new corporate dentist with the bulk of the work including all the hygiene exams. This new younger dentist was constantly falling behind with his work making us, the hygienists, run behind. Our clients were becoming irritated as they needed to wait so long for their dental and hygiene work. As we moved through the day, this made each succeeding client wait even longer. Everyone was unhappy.

Finally toward the end of one particularly frustrating week, I realized something had to be done. The new dentist was having an awful time. I meditated on how I could bring the Attunement current into this work situation. So one day I bought a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine for the new dentist with a note explaining how I was aware that he was having such a rough time. Immediately everything changed—the atmosphere in the office, the dentist's attitude, and his hygiene exams started being done on time. Patients were happy. We, the hygienists, were delighted and grateful. A simple but deliberate act of Attunement brought a remarkable shift in the overall office and in the process blessed many people's lives.

Attunement In The Operating Room

by Denise Rotert, Independence, MO

As Attunement practitioners around the world continue to radiate the current of love, people the world over are profoundly affected. When we open our hearts to Attunement and allow its specific enfoldment of our larger world, many opportunities to assist with a wide variety of situations are returned to each of us. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the area of health care. Physicians and health care providers are increasingly aware of the value of vibrational support for people experiencing health care crises, and hospitals around the country now offer various vibrational healing modalities in conjunction with standard medical care. This trend is even gaining ground in the conservative Midwestern United States.

I was able to witness a new acceptance by the medical community of the value of vibrational healing when I recently accompanied a friend to a consultation with her surgeon about treatment options for breast cancer. During the consultation, it was decided that a lumpectomy and follow-up chemotherapy were the best choices for treatment. When my friend told her surgeon she was an Attunement Practitioner, the surgeon asked if she wanted to have an energy practitioner present during the lumpectomy. I agreed to be present before the procedure, to be in the operating room during the surgery, and to stay with her during her time in the recovery room.

The surgical team was very interested in what I was offering during the surgery, and I explained that I was simply supporting and holding my friend’s life energy pattern while she was under anesthesia. I explained that patients report quicker recovery times and require less pain medication following surgical procedures when an energy worker offers this type of support. While this information was new to the members of the surgical team, they seemed to be open to the idea and welcomed my presence.

Being present on-site during a surgical procedure is a very intense experience, and I was grateful to have other energy practitioners offering additional support, both in the waiting room and long-distance. My own focus during the surgery remained very clear—to support and hold my friend’s life pattern while she was anesthetized, and to also surround the entire surgical team with the healing power of Attunement. Because the atmosphere in the operating room was very intense and somewhat distracting, my focus on holding my friend’s energy pattern kept me from picking up on other patterns or changes in patterns during the procedure. Perhaps one of those practitioners who were in the waiting room will write at some other time about any changes or shifts they picked up on during this experience.

Following the procedure, I stayed with my friend during her time in the recovery room to help clear the effects of the anesthesia and to offer the surround of Attunement. Several nurses and doctors were very interested in the addition of an energy worker to the team, and some came into the recovery room to meet me. One anesthesiologist even came into the recovery room and asked if she could sit next to me and my friend so she could soak up some of that nice energy—she said it felt very good in our corner of the recovery room! She stayed with us for about 15 minutes, and I have no doubt that the current of Attunement was also felt by other people in the hospital that day.

As I expected, my friend experienced a rapid recovery and in fact took very little pain medication following her procedure. Attunement continues to assist her through her followup chemotherapy treatments. While I know this type of work is not a good fit for all practitioners, I encourage each of you to consider whether this type of work is right for you. I truly feel there is a window of opportunity for Attunement to be welcomed into the field of health care. If we let love’s light shine into our world, the opportunities to share Attunement will continue to manifest.
