Radiant Living(Alan & Jean Hammond, who live in Colorado, spoke to agroup of Attunement Practitionersin Kansas City, MO. Jeanhas 40 years experience withAttunement and these are someof her thoughts.) It's wonderful to behere in Kansas City this morning with all ofyou who understand what the attunementcurrent is and are increasingly letting thatbecome a central ingredient in your lifestyle. As Chris was just indicating, we are livingin a very rapidly changing world. Al Gore'srecent film and book, ÒAn InconvenientTruth,Ó has certainly brought to the fore theincreasing physical changes on our planet, particularly related to global warming. Otherissues include AIDS creeping around theglobe, escalating population, terrorism, andthe list goes on. I would say that if there wasever a need for attunement practitioners inthis world, it is nowÉ In your attunement classes I'm sure it hasbeen emphasized that what goes on in thepractitioner is the basis of what can be given. The quality of a practitioner's life characterizesthe quality of their personal radiation. How important it is to not get ensnared inthe vast changes going on in our world, toIAAP Annual Eventdevelop the capacity to view many things withone's eye only, and to stay centered in the coreof the attunement current. I've been thinking about how human opinionis so encouraged now. We are constantlyinvited to phone in, to post our opinions onthe Internet Ñ about you name it, and ofcourse the media bombards us with opinion. It takes a little courage to be opinionless intoday's world, which isn't to say that thereisn't need for perception. That's somethingelse. Being opinionless in the true sense iswhat opens space for real perception to haveroom to enter our feelings, our thoughts, andpermeate our experience. True perceptionrelates to being able to accurately assess situationsfor the moment, and therefore be inposition to do what is possible Ñ not whatis impossible in that moment. This article ÒThe Soul of a ChampionÓdiscusses the qualities of well-known athletes, such as competitiveness, confidence, composure, and relative to Michael Jordanan interviewer said, ÒJordan had an uncannyability to block out distractions, to zero inon what was important. It was like he wasin a total vacuum, totally zoned inÉthat'sthe hallmark, really, of a champion Ñ focus, focus, focus.Ó And focus is also the hallmark of a champion attunement practitioner. Thinking about all of us being present in today's world asattunement practitioners, I'm aware of the increasing need tobe in the right place at the right time. The physical level of thisinvolves obvious things such as driving, operating machinery, having eyes in the back of our heads when traveling. Thereis also the matter of being in the right place at the right timementally, letting the right thoughts be present. I recently sawa bumper sticker that said, ÒDon't believe everything youthink.Ó That's good advice! As we all know, it is important toremember that in this increasingly mixed-up world, vibrationalpatterns of all kinds come to us. Have you ever had a thoughtand then said to yourself, ÒGood grief! Where did that comefrom? How could I possibly think that? Purification? HaveI been doing any purification?Ó Thoughts can come to us attimes that are not our own. They can sail in from somewhereout there in the mass consciousness, and part of our job asattunement practitioners is to learn how to press these out sothat space for true perception is always kept inviolate. Relativeto being in the right place at the right time emotionally, Iwould add the bumper sticker, ÒDon't believe everything youfeel.Ó Again, feelings can sail in from who knows where andwant attention, looking to invade and operate in the spacewithin us that really needs to be held open for other levelsof attunement work. Letting clear feelings be present is essential,so that we can Òbless our worldsÓ which many of youmentioned in your opening comments as being your purposein sharing attunement. I kept this newspaper picture which has this caption:ÒPilgrims collect water at a statue of John Paul II unveiledat his Polish hometown...touching the water that runs overits base and collecting it in bottles in the belief that it carriesthe power to heal.Ó This reminded me of years ago before Ibecame aware of the attunement process, when within myselfI reached out hoping to find someone or something that wouldhelp me find the true meaning of life. I think there are manypeople in the world now who are doing this in spirit. They arereaching out wherever they are, trying to find that someoneor something that can provide an answer, give help, connectthem with what can assist. If we are able to be in the right placeat the right time physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, then we are available so that someone or some pattern canfind us and the responsive need represented given attentionvia the radiation that moves through us. Sometimes I feel aperson or a pattern coming to me just in spirit. I might beout gardening and suddenly feel the presence of somethingor someone somewhere reaching out with their empty waterbottle, looking to gather water that will assist. Perhaps theyare looking for a focus of the attunement current, in fact, asI was years ago. In such a moment it is possible to connectthem with the spirit of the Creator and the spirit of assurance, and give what assistance is possible. Just another thought before Alan speaks. I'm getting a littleolder. Is anyone else here getting a little older? I now often winthe prize for the most silver hair wherever I am! Our society isobsessed with youth. Plastic surgery, botox treatments, inordinateexercising Ñ anything to stave off aging in the searchfor the fountain of youth. Many of you are familiar with thewords and spirit of Martin Exeter. He once said that as hegot older he found there were things he'd always done that hewas not able to do either at all or as quickly, but that with agethere were other things he was able to do that he couldn't dobefore. I am interested in discovering what those things mightbe for me as I get older! An initial thought is that maybe it hasto do with the radiant use of the maturing senses. I may notmove rocks in my garden the way I used to, but the rocks thatI look upon can be imbued with a new quality of radiationthat comes out of my eyes. I do many things as all of you doÑ I cook, clean, volunteer at a local university, sing in a largechoral group, care for my sister who has Parkinson's. Throughsuch avenues of radiation (and you can think of yours), thereare new ways emerging of connecting through the senses. We can look upon things radiantly, hear things radiantly thatblesses in new ways, and maybe even creatively change whatwe see and hear. We can touch, smell and taste things radiantlythat imbues them with something new. With age we may notmove quite as quickly physically, but there is the potential tomove like lightening in other zones! I'm sure many of you have seen documentaries on the firstblind climber to scale Mt. Everest a couple of years ago. Hisfellow climbers must have been quite the attunement teamto help him navigate! They would tell him things during theascent to help navigate treacherous points on the journey, buthe said that in addition to the team, his success was based inthe fact that he could Òsee.Ó Other senses had been heightenedand/or maybe a new one created to replace normal physicalsight. The resources in the human body are remarkable, andthere are so many new avenues to open for all of us. It'supward and onward in our journey in life as we stay in thepurification processes that keep our facilities tuned up so thatwe really are available to our world 24/7! –JH
Using Attunement in the Corporate WorldTwenty years ago when I started my SpiritualJourney, I was working in a corporateenvironment that was filled with anger anddistrust. I learned about chakras, energywork and meditation, and I brought sacredobjects such as crystals into my office sothat others could feel the peace, joy and lovethese objects provided for me. However, while the peoplearound me thought the objects were pretty or unusual, theydid not get the feeling! when I was with a spiritual group but not in the corporateenvironment. I talked to others about my experiencesof feeling joy and peace, kept objects around me that emitteda feeling of joy and peace, but people still didn't understand. Then I was introduced to Reiki and Attunement. I startedworking on myself to help me feel better when I got headachesfrom a stressful day. When I traveled to Hong Kong I wasasked to do energy work on the woman that I was visiting. InBali, my driver, a Brahman (the highest caste in Hindu society),asked me to work on his wife. This was an honor becausethe Balinese typically do not go outside of their villages, nordo they let foreigners work on them. When working on myMaster's degree in Washington, D.C. I did energy work onmy classmates. However, I was not able to convey the qualityof my experience to fellow workers, and I continued to feel anger toward these people. Then I started taking Attunement classes and practicingmore of the Attunement principles and techniques on myself.I asked Chris Jorgensen, how do I keep this feeling whenin my work environment. He just smiled and said, Òthat isthe question.Ó So I started doing more Attunement on myenvironment. Before a meeting, I would do Attunementon the room and the people I knew would attend. Then Inoticed that co-workers were coming to me when they feltstressed and I started working on them in my cubicle. Theydid not know what I was doing; they just felt better. When mymanager berated me, I opened my heart space and radiatedAttunement energy. On finding myself in a meeting that wasunfocused and chaotic, I put my hands under the desk andstarted holding the room and the occupants in Attunementenergy. The whole tone of the meeting changed to one oflaughter and cooperation. Ego seemed to evaporate. I evenlearned more about using Attunement for long distance byworking on participants in conference calls. I found that if I started my day by enfolding every activity inthe Attunement energy, holding my office space and the entirebuilding every morning before going to work, the day wouldgo much smoother. I found I could handle the unexpectedwith ease. I finally found the answer, Attunement energy. Justas Chris had taught, and I now understand.
