Long Distance Attunement Partnership

◄ by Jan Vanderwood – Hancock, New Hampshire ►

Lois and I have never been in the same room, never met or talked on the phone and yet, she and I are the most intimate of friends. We know each other on a level that sometimes even family and close friends are unaware of – that place of Being.

We support each other without judgement and are there for each other regardless of distance and through all types of up and down experiences. We share a common interest that leads us down the rabbit hole of shared experience. This is a beautifully winding path that leads us always back to our true self ~ Attunement. This is a safe place of trial and feedback, and in it can be found the richness of exploration and ongoing shared support – deep, substantial and often surprising in its accuracy.

Lois and I are long distance Attunement partners and I encourage anyone, especially those new to Attunement, to match up, either informally or formally (through Liz Turner’s Long Distance Attunement Network), and meet up with your own interpersonal support system. At a rough guess we have been sharing this practice for 4+ years. Thank you, Lois, for being there when I’ve needed that extra hand to hold me up, and for just having fun in the explorations of Attunement. Thank you, Liz, for hooking us up. Long Distance Attunement partnership – I recommend it!

  1. Thank you for sharing this, Jan! I too enjoy the invisible yet powerful wonders of having long distance Attunement partners.

When I first began my relationship with Attunement, this aspect was the most far-out for me. I was in a 5-month class with Andrew Shier and he explained that his good friend, Paul was in the hospital, having surgery that day. I had never met Paul. Andrew gave us the location of the hospital and maybe spoke a bit about Paul and the situation. I sat up straight, thought about this man named Paul and began “sharing Attunement” with him. It wasn’t long before I started to feel a bit woozy and drugged. I hung in there, thinking about how Attunement was love and marveled a bit about this unusual feeling I was having. When we finished up and we shared our experiences; other’s had felt similar things. Andrew explained that we were probably feeling the medications Paul was on during surgery. I was awestruck by this experience and my fascination with and love of long distance work continues.

The Long Distance Attunement Network sprung from these feelings. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite anyone who is interested to join. The only requirement is knowledge and experience in Attunement. We have teleconferences every two months. I sometimes get requests from members looking to get a long distance partner and often don’t have people to match them up with. I usually encourage them to connect with people they have met through their classes. Currently I have a member who would like a partner who she doesn’t know and hasn’t met to broaden her experience. If you are interested let me know.

I want to share in closing that sometimes I forget the meeting with my partner and will get half-way through my day and wonder why I feel so good. It comes to me that it is Wednesday! I smile to myself and feel so grateful for this invisible loving practice called Attunement!
