Animal Attunement

◄ by Gretchen Abendschein – Saxtons River, VT ►

I’ve been taking an Attunement practitioners course in Hancock, NH, with Andrew Shier since the beginning of September. Each weekend we put names of those we want to bring into our field on an altar in the center of our circle.

During a class at the end of October I had put the name of one of my cats, Mr. Spatterdash, on the altar in our Attunement circle. He was scheduled to have surgery on the following Monday morning to remove an infected nipple, which had become swollen and discolored last spring. I had taken Spats to the vet in the beginning of June for a diagnosis, but decided not to have any procedure done at the time since it seemed rather minor and might self-correct. But, in mid-October the infection started getting worse and looked like a very large blood blister. The gland beneath the skin was swollen as well, so the vet recommended having the nipple removed. When I got home from the Attunement class on Sunday afternoon, Spats climbed in my lap and I was surprised to discover that the infection had drained and his nipple was almost back to normal. So, I called the vet’s office Monday morning and cancelled his scheduled surgery.

It is now several weeks later and Mr. Spatterdash is completely healed.

The current of love that runs through the heart of Attunement is truly a powerful healing force. I’m very grateful to be part of this amazing, vibrant community.
