Introducing Attunement to Nurses in Oman

◄ by John Patrick Flood – Oman ►

I offered an introductory Attunement workshop on June 10th for the faculty at Oman Specialized Nursing Institute. They enjoyed it and found it slightly challenging at times (which I think was perfect as I used Uranda’s comment on exercise as one of my starting points). We had about three hours together including a tea break.

Laila Al Qassim [on extreme far right] was my contact person for this event. Those I worked with today are nursing faculty and heads of various departments in several health institutes. Several asked if I would be willing to speak to their staff. One person commented that just experiencing the quality of stillness more frequently would lead to more relaxation, healing and a less stressful life.

I am thankful that today helped open new areas of consciousness and experience for those who came…some shyness and doubt faced and to some degree met by taking some first steps ( a centering your world exercise and and use of hand contact points for self-attunement) or by feeling a relatedness to what they already have expressed that carried the qualities of attunement.

I will continue to mediate on this day and what steps I need to take to move forward in my and our attunement service.

Editor’s note: Oman, a nation on the Arabian Peninsula, has terrain encompassing desert, riverbed oases and long coastlines on the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman.  The port capital, Muscat, is home to the massive, contemporary Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the old waterfront Muttrah quarter, with its labyrinthine souk and busy fish market.

  1. John – thank you for posting this article about your Attunement work. Great picture of those that were with you. It is helpful to me, and I am sure others, to have such a direct connection between your part of the world (Oman) and the Attunement Community.

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your day and this wonderful photo with us, John. For many years I have observed and honored the fact that, of all those who work in the medical field, Nurses tend to be most open and willing to explore the more intuitive and energetic realms of supporting the healing process and spiritual dimensions. I happen to think that nurses are the best thing since ice cream anyway, but your story gave me a particular opportunity to extend Attunement radiation to these nurses and faculty in another land. Very heartening, indeed.
